Coronavirus announcement:updated 4/1/2020

Church: For our Valley Falls Christian Church family and friends: I want to take a couple moments to answer some questions that you may have about how we are responding to the coronavirus as it pertains to our weekend worship services and other activities.

As fully devoted followers of Jesus, we are called to be strong and courageous and to not let fear and anxiety overcome us (Joshua 1:9; Psalm 23:4; Psalm 34:4; Psalm 55:22; John 14:27; Philippians 4:6-7; Matthew 6:25-34. Hebrews 13:6; 2 Timothy 1:7; Colossians 3:15). We will not embrace panic, but we also will take seriously what is happening in the world; we trust God because we have a RADICAL FAITH in His love, power, grace, truth, peace and will.

We are encouraged to PRAY BOLDLY. We will continue to be a church that prays bold prayers because we know the ONE who is worthy to bring our requests to which include fears, anxieties, worries and so much more. 1 Peter 5:7 says, “Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you.” Nothing is too little or too big for our God and He is more than able!

At VFCC, we are doing our best to follow guidelines for religious services as they are issued by the state government and health officials. It is our goal to keep everyone safe and still have a church presence in Valley Falls. For the next couple of weeks, that presence will be digital and not at the church building. We will also have a presence in the way we help our neighbors out in the name of Jesus.

FAQs

Is Valley Falls Christian Church still meeting on Sundays?
We will NOT meet at the church building for any activity, including worship services, throughout the month of April. At the end of April we will reevalute on the best strategy moving forward. We WILL have worship services online through uploaded vidoes. The videos will premier at 10 a.m. and be available afterward as well. You can watch them on the website, VFCC Facebook page, VFCC YouTube channel and on Rightnow Media. We do encourage you to make use of our gift of Rightnow Media for children's programming and adult Bible study. You can find that link on the home page.
Continue to follow us on Facebook for up-to-date information. We will also make announcements on the prayer chain and on the website. We will continue to have our sermon audio available later in the week at on our sermons page.

What precautions is VFCC taking at this time?
• COMMUNION: You may take communion on your own with crackers and grape juice. There will be a communion meditation in our online worship service. We will NOT take communion into homes at this time.
• OFFERING: We encourage everyone to continue in your acts of generosity to VFCC as the Lord leads you. You may give online through our portal GYVE. The link to get started is on our home page. You may also mail donations to VFCC Treasurer, 17041 K 192 HWY, Winchester KS 66097.

What can I do?
Stay healthy. Wash your hands. Pray Boldly. Don’t panic! The enemy wants you to live in fear and worry. The Lord wants you to live with RADICAL FAITH, peace, hope and love. Come worship with us on Sunday! We know we must be wise about our own physical health. The CDC has put out an article on how to maintain healthy environments for you and your family.

We are going to take the necessary precautions to ensure that we continue to provide your spiritual nourishment while we are separated. You may watch the announcement video on the homepage if you haven't yet.

Be the church. Call/text/email others in the church to make sure everyone is doing OK. Skype or Zoom with those who have that capability. Invite people to our online worship services and to like our Facebook page to stay in the loop.

If you are facing hardship due to the COVID-19 situation (loss of work, lack of basic necessities, financial strains, etc.) please contact the church and we will help you in any way we are able.

Mike Kirby
Pastor, Valley Falls Christian Church
